For me, wildlife art has never simply been about painting animals.
It is about presence, resilience, survival, and the silent strength that exists in the natural world. Before becoming a professional wildlife artist, I served in the Royal Navy as a Mine Clearance Diver, a role built on discipline, focus, calmness under pressure, and respect for environments that demand absolute attention. Those experiences shaped the way I see the world and continue to influence my work today. Following my military career, I spent more than fifteen years leading complex operational and infrastructure programmes across the UK and Europe, working at a director level within housing, maintenance, engineering, and EV infrastructure sectors. Despite the pace and pressure of that world, art remained a constant thread throughout my life. Today, that passion has become something far more personal. After being diagnosed with a none curable medical condition in 2025, my artwork took on a deeper meaning. Painting became both a creative outlet and a statement of resilience, a way to channel challenge into something powerful, calm, and enduring.
My work focuses primarily on wildlife subjects, particularly animals that embody strength, endurance, wisdom, and survival. I am drawn to older animals, weathered features, dramatic light, and quiet emotion the moments where character reveals itself without noise.
Working mainly in acrylic, Oil paint and pastel pencil, I create contemporary wildlife pieces designed to feel atmospheric, emotionally engaging, and impactful on the wall. Light, shadow, texture, and depth play a central role in every composition, with the eyes of the subject often acting as the emotional focal point of the piece. Alongside my wildlife collections, I also undertake a limited number of bespoke pet portrait commissions, creating highly personal pieces that celebrate the connection between people and the animals they love. Selected works within my collections also help support a mixture of charities.
My aim is simple:
To create artwork that people do not just look at but feel.
Thank you for visiting and supporting my journey.
